Dr. Omid Kohani, MD. FACC
Dr. Omid Kohani specializes in the field of cardiovascular disease with great interest in preventive cardiology, diagnostic cardiology, women’s heart disease and cardiac risk assessment and risk modification. He manages and treats patients on a daily basis with regards to Heart Failure, Valvular Heart Disease, Hypertension, Angina, Coronary Artery Disease, Arrhythmias, Lipid management, and Adult Congenital Heart Disease. His belief in thorough bedside interview with his patients and physical examination has taken him far in diagnostic capabilities along with the available innovative cardiac imaging tools.
Dr. Kohani graduated summa cuma laude with a BA degree in Anthropology from Queens College (CUNY) and completed his medical training at Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn. Dr. Kohani finished his medical residency at Montefiore Medical Center (Albert Einstein College of Medicine) and then completed his Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City where he was appointed as Chief Fellow. He is Board Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiology, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and American Society of Echocardiography. In addition, he has successfully completed training and received certification in Cardiac Tomography Angiography (Cardiac CT).
Dr. Kohani is affiliated with Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset. He is a member/fellow of the American College of Cardiology and American Medical Association. In addition, Dr. Kohani is proudly affiliated with The Heart Center of St. Francis Hospital, located right here in Roslyn, New York. For over 50 years St. Francis Hospital has been a leader in the field of cardiology – The Heart Center has been home to countless breakthroughs, and the site of groundbreaking research in the field of cardiological health and wellness. Dr. Kohani and his staff are happy to carry on such a tradition, providing patients with the highest quality of cardiology care available in Nassau County and beyond.
